Growing up in a family that embraced computer technology early on, I had the unique advantage of having a PC at home long before most people even considered it. This early exposure sparked my passion for tinkering with and building home computers, and I pursued this interest throughout my youth. In high school, I found myself more connected with the electronics world and studied electronic system design and basic programming. In college, I worked with friends on early network designs and business computer builds while the internet was still in it’s infancy.

In 2007, I began my professional journey into home automation in Durango, Colorado, where I quickly learned home wiring and system programming for lighting systems, automation systems, and motorized shades. By 2011, I had moved to Telluride, and began collaborating with a smaller startup company on sound systems and TV installations. After a few years around town, I had teamed up with another friend in rebranding and running one of the major installation companies in the region.

In 2022, driven by a desire to innovate (as well as my partners decision to leave the area), I left that company behind and moved on to establish Digital 1. My goal was to create a company that focused on simplifying home automation solutions, drawing on years of experience and a deep-seated passion for easier to use technologies. Our goal now and into the future is to make home automation and control simpler and more accessible, so that you spend more time enjoying your home rather than trying to understand how it works.
